Bosch Debuts Robust 6.0 Ah 18V Lithium-ion Battery to Increase Jobsite Runtime
BAT622 keeps small footprint while extending runtime by up to 45%, maintains Bosch quality heritage in Li-on batteries
Mt. Prospect, Ill (July 7, 2015) – Maximizing battery runtime on the jobsite means less frustration and futility trying to find a charged battery. It also means more uptime for power-critical tools like rotary hammers, drivers, saws and other power tools. The Bosch BAT622 18V Li-Ion 6.0 Ah FatPack battery promises to increase productivity for every trade professional by offering the power tool industry’s first 6.0 Ah battery, offering up to 45% more runtime over standard 4.0 Ah packs.
Industry-leading Bosch lithium-Ion batteries start with a propriety heat sink housing design. CoolPack™ heat conductive housing is specifically designed to cool internal cell temperatures. And a cooler-running battery means extended recharge life that’s up to 100 times longer than similar packs without this design.
The Bosch BAT622 is the lightest, most compact and longest runtime FatPack-style battery in the industry. And it’s compatible with the complete line of Bosch 18V lithium-ion power tools.
“As the worldwide leader in battery technology, Bosch continues to offer first-to-market battery solutions,” said Tim Truesdale, product manager, batteries, chargers and wireless technology, Robert Bosch Tool Corporation. “Bosch has increased runtime while keeping the size and weight the same from the first lithium-ion batteries launched more than seven years ago to our 6.0 Ah pack today.“
The Bosch BAT622 is built with advanced technology high-capacity, low-resistance lithium-ion cells that increase the overall charge capacity from standard 4.0 Ah batteries by up to 45%. This advancement translates to improved runtime and performance for all Bosch 18V power tools, especially rotary hammers, impact drivers and reciprocating saws.
Bosch battery technology continues to work with each individual tool’s electronic monitoring system (EMS), which regulates the proper amount of voltage drawn to tackle the heavy-duty job. EMS monitors heating of the tool and battery and will shut either sysytem down if temperatures reach a range that can cause damage. This protects the entire system for a long, productive life.
Bosch BAT622 batteries maintain the same size and weight footprint found on previous Bosch 3.0 Ah, 4.0 Ah and 5.0 Ah 18V batteries. Like all Bosch 18V batteries, the BAT622 6.0 Ah includes a fuel gauge to ensure users always know their power level.
